Blueberry Cranberry Sauce

An excellent all-purpose sauce to serve with traditional roasted poultry, as well as pork roasts and as a sandwich and cold meat condiment.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Freezing: not recommended
Serving: 3 cups (750mL)

Ingredients:

•   750mL (3 cups) Europe’s Best® Wild Woodland Blueberries, frozen
•   500mL (2 cups) fresh cranberries
•   175mL (3/4 cup) water
•   125mL (1/2 cup) maple syrup or honey, or more to taste
•   125mL (1/2 cup) orange juice
•   30mL (2 tbsp) grated orange zest

Preparation:

1.  In a saucepan, combine fruit, water and syrup. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook uncovered for 12 to 15 minutes, or until fruit is soft.

2.  Remove from heat and stir in orange juice and zest. (For a slightly thinner sauce, add additional water.

3.  Cool and serve.

Tips:

•   Sauce can be prepared, covered and refrigerated for up to one week.
